DEVELOPMENT OF PORTABLE-DETACHABLE GROUNDNUT OIL EXPELLER FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES

JETI Admin

Abstract

Groundnut oil, the product from this oilseed, is not classed as vegetable oil in Nigeria market. Beginning from the groundnut roasting to the production of the product (oil) there are case-hardening scenarios. The development of this machine is to remove contaminants and produce oil that is free of harmful chemicals. The result data indicated the substantive dehydration in the oil extraction yield after the roasting. The extraction efficiency was obtained due to screw conveyor design. The quality of oil extracted indicated a lower moisture content, better efficiency production rate, and with a standard consumption nutritional value. The machine therefore improved the economic living standard of the rural farmer.
