Abstract
In recent years, there has been a rapid growth in demand for high-quality power inverters. This study deals with harmonic analysis for different types of solar inverters. The purpose of this study is to carry out the comparative analysis of a designed 1000Watts (1KW) 12Vdc Smart Solar Inverter with a locally made power inverter of a frequency of 50Hz.To reduce harmonic content, filters are designed which in turn improves the power factor and efficiency of the system. Various Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques are used to reduce the percentage of Third Harmonics Distortion (%THD) within IEEE standards. The design and simulation of the system are evaluated using MATLAB / SIMULINK; output waveforms of %THD were achieved using CA 8338 Qualister and Third harmonic Distortion Analyzers. The inverter performs the opposite function of a rectifier, where it is a high-power electronic oscillator, which converts DC to AC in different shapes. The study simulation results show that the proposed FLC can reduce the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) under linear loading conditions. A hardware design experiment is presented for a 1kVA, 50Hz power inverter under various loading conditions to demonstrate and validate the study
